The Good — measured
Our impact, live from the workshop floor.
Every device we collect is logged, tracked and given a measurable outcome. These are the totals across every MakeITgood client, updating in real time as kit moves through data destruction, refurbishment and certified WEEE recycling.

How we count it
We don't estimate from invoices. Every device is logged in your portal with a unique asset tag and tracked through ten lifecycle stages — added, collected, received, sorted, erased, then refurbished, recycled or completed. The numbers above are the direct sum of those records.
- Weights use device-type averages from the WEEE Forum 2023 weights register and manufacturer disclosures.
- Embodied CO₂e comes from peer-reviewed lifecycle assessments — refurbishment avoids the carbon cost of manufacturing a new device. Materials recycling is credited at 15% of the reuse value.
- Equivalences (trees, flights) are illustrative only — 1 tonne CO₂e ≈ 45 mature trees / year, ≈ 130 kg per UK short-haul flight passenger.

MakeITgood clients get a per-organisation impact report — the same numbers as above, scoped to your devices, with a full methodology page. Download it from your portal dashboard whenever you need it for a board pack, ESG submission or tender response.
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly — sorted.
We turn ageing IT into measurable environmental wins, certified data destruction and kit that helps charities, schools and community groups do more with less.
